Quality Systems
Freo enables the achievement of its purpose and mission by using an integrated management system. This system integrates all components of the business and incorporates formalised systems focusing on quality, health and safety, environment, supply and finance. Management and employees use this system as a guide and reference in all matters relating to aspects of business processes.
We believe that people are one of our most valuable assets. Our people – through their quality of service and skills – and with the proper use of our systems and procedures, endeavour to meet the needs and requirements of all clients.
Our commitment to quality is demonstrated by the implementation of a Quality Management System meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. For the purpose of continually improving the Management System we have employed full time specialists in the field of QHSE. They are responsible for maintaining the objectives of the HSE and Quality policies and sustaining a system of continuous improvement within the organisation.
Health and Safety
It is our intention to establish high levels of Health and Safety standards throughout our organisation and worksites. This commitment ensures Freo is able to meet the challenge of the changing environment and the demands of industry, which is intent on improved safety practices, productivity and competitiveness.
Freo’s management team is actively involved in the management and planning of Health and Safety. We encourage our employees to be active in observing and recommending changes in the workplace to reduce exposure to any risks and hazards. We promote and foster Occupational Health and Safety on all our worksites, and train all employees and specialist contractors in all aspects of workplace health.
Freo works towards the achievement of a fully implemented safety system which:
- Commits the Company to achieve Best Practice elements;
- Facilitates the prompt return to work of employees;
- Complies with all applicable legislation, standards and codes;
- Is decentralised and self-sustaining at each workplace;
- Provides for all necessary learning and training;
- Recognises the needs of the Client base and provides assistance to achieve predetermined goals;
- Allows those who do the work to progress and achieve;
- Is subject to regular review and, where necessary, revision;
- Recognises the achievements of work groups and individuals;
- Achieves a goal of zero lost time injuries.
Our commitment to Health and Safety is demonstrated by our Occupational Health and Safety AS/NZS 4801 Certification.
Environment
Freo is committed to the adoption and maintenance of sound environmental management and operating practices, which ensure the continual improvement of environmental performance. We regard the protection of the environment to be an important aspect of our operations and a necessary element of good corporate citizenship.
Our Environmental Management System operates in tandem with our Quality Assurance System to recognise and control the environmental impact of all organisational activities. This is achieved by extending our existing control over company processes to include consideration of environmental impact.
We have set strategic environmental improvement objectives based on the impacts that our activities, services and processes have on the environment. From these objectives, specific targets and detailed actions have been developed to improve our environmental performance.
