Freo A Top Team for Safety

Freo has been recognised for their performance and contribution to safety by winning the team award at BPH Billiton's monthly "Belief in Zero Harm Monthly awards."
The award was presented for a dual crane lift at KNR Kwinana, undertaken as part of the demolition works on the Air Liquide CO2 plant.
The Freo team lifted a 75t (22 meters in length and 4.8meters in height) Air Liquide vessel, and also undertook its transport on a multi wheel articulated trailer to another site for re-use.
This high-risk dual crane lift – using a 160t Demag and a 220t Grove – went without incident, and the truck and vessel left site as scheduled, without any stoppages.
"Planning was the key to the successful execution of this work." said project supervisor, Freo Crane's Laurie De Bari. "Every aspect of the lift and transport was studied and planned, ensuring that there were no surprises once works were underway."
The project is a great example of planning to reduce risk and eliminating any residual risk through proper execution and tight control of the work front.
